Our Programs

Women Empowerment Program (WEP)

Started: 08.01.2021

Women Rights program is design to promote and protect the women's rights focusing on gender, women's political participation, democracy, violence against women, domestic worker's rights etc.

The objective of this program is to improve the status of women. It aims to:

  • Organize women in groups
  • Enable them to take part in development activities
  • Educate them through awareness and advocacy programs
  • Provide skill development opportunities (reading, writing, sewing, embroidery, etc.)
  • Offer micro-business management training

Youth Awareness Program (YAP)

Started: 25.03.2021

The Objectives of this program is to raise the concerns of youth with an aim to provide them a platform where they can discuss their issues with each other and find the solutions of their problems.

Focus areas include:

  • Health / reproductive health
  • Peace and Harmony
  • Democracy and political education
  • Skills exchange and networking
  • PEACE education for school and out-of-school youth
  • Interactive/Street theater for awareness
  • Advocacy for youth-friendly policies

Manifest Function Group

Started: 27.03.2021

Performing art is playing an important role in bringing change in behaviors, attitudes and practices of people.

PHRO organized events as interactive, forum, schools and community halls techniques by the national trainers. Since its beginning, PHRO has organized nearly 100+ events all over Sindh, Pakistan. Around 50,000 audiences directly involve in events.

Human Rights Network

Started: 10.12.2021

PHRO took initiative to Established a Human Right Network in January 2014, with the focus to Protect and Promote the Domestic working women's human rights collectively.

Objectives:

  • Gather grass root level organizations with lawyers, media, government
  • Share resources for collective action
  • Build capacity of grass root organizations

Human Rights Network reached to the national level in 2016 and increased its membership by introducing the Provincial Human Rights Network Coordinators in all over province of Sindh.

Child Awareness Program

Started: 26.11.2021

PHRO initiated Children Awareness Program for the Poor families of the society. The children of Female Domestic Workers are too vulnerable as their mother did not pay fully attention to their children due to the too long duty hours.

Program aims:

  • Address basic needs like education, health, food and social rights
  • Provide proper play activities
  • Health and hygiene awareness (for both school-going and out-of-school children)
